This Privacy Policy describes how XYZFile (“XYZFile”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the XYZFile mobile application. Replace the bracketed placeholders below before publishing this document.

App Provider: [App Provider Legal Name]
Contact: [support@example.com]
Mailing address: [optional mailing address, if required]

1. Summary

XYZFile is designed as a local file management app. Based on the current app implementation, XYZFile does not require an account, does not include advertising SDKs, does not include third-party analytics SDKs, and does not upload your files to our servers.

Files you import, create, organize, preview, play, compress, extract, rename, duplicate, share, or delete are processed on your device unless you choose to share or export them through iOS system features or another app.

2. Information We Handle

Files and content you choose to use with XYZFile

XYZFile may handle files, photos, videos, audio files, archives, PDFs, office documents, folders, and other content that you import into or open with the App. This content is stored in the App’s local file library, currently under the iOS app sandbox Documents/XYZFile directory.

This content may include personal information if you place personal information in your files. We do not use this content for advertising, profiling, or analytics.

File metadata

To provide file management features, XYZFile may read local metadata such as file name, file type, size, modification date, directory path, duration for supported audio/video items, and archive structure. This metadata is used locally to display, search, sort, preview, play, compress, extract, and organize files.

Permissions

XYZFile may request access to iOS features only when needed for a feature you choose to use:

  • Files and document access: to import files selected through iOS document picker or open files sent to XYZFile.
  • Photos and videos: to import selected media or save exported media, if those features are used.
  • Camera: to capture content for import, if that feature is used.
  • Microphone: to record audio or video content, if that feature is used.
  • Audio playback: to play audio, including background audio where supported by iOS.

You can manage app permissions in iOS Settings.

Diagnostics from Apple

If you choose to share analytics with app developers through Apple settings, Apple may provide crash logs or diagnostic information to help us understand app stability. We use this information only to diagnose and improve XYZFile.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Based on the current app implementation, XYZFile does not collect or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, or contact list.
  • Advertising identifiers or App Tracking Transparency tracking data.
  • Precise location.
  • Payment information.
  • Your imported files or file contents to our servers.
  • Analytics events through Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, or similar third-party analytics/advertising services.

If future versions add accounts, sync, cloud processing, subscriptions, advertising, analytics, or other network services, this Privacy Policy should be updated before those features are released.

4. How Information Is Used

XYZFile uses local files and metadata to:

  • Import, browse, search, sort, preview, and organize files.
  • Create folders and manage local file operations.
  • Play audio and video files.
  • Compress and extract archives.
  • Display smart collections by file type.
  • Share or export files when you choose to use iOS sharing features.
  • Diagnose crashes or technical issues when diagnostic data is provided by Apple.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

XYZFile does not share your files with us. Your files may be shared only when you choose to:

  • Export or share a file using the iOS share sheet.
  • Open a file in another app.
  • Save or move a file through iOS file system features.
  • Include app data in iCloud or device backups, depending on your Apple and device settings.

When you share content with another app, website, service, or person, their privacy practices apply to the content you share.

6. Third-Party Software

XYZFile uses third-party open-source libraries to provide interface, reactive programming, animation, menu, compression, and archive features. Current dependencies include SnapKit, RxSwift, RxCocoa, Hero, SideMenu, SSZipArchive, and SWCompression.

These libraries are included in the App to support local app functionality. They are not used by XYZFile for advertising or tracking in the current implementation.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Files stored in XYZFile remain on your device until you delete them in the App, delete them through iOS file management features, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling XYZFile may remove app-local files, subject to iOS behavior and backup/restore settings.

Crash or diagnostic information provided by Apple may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to diagnose, secure, and improve the App.

8. Security

XYZFile relies on iOS app sandboxing and device security controls to help protect app-local files. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so you should protect your device with a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and appropriate backup settings.

9. Children

XYZFile is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at [support@example.com].

10. Your Choices and Rights

Because XYZFile currently does not maintain user accounts or server-side file storage, most privacy controls are available directly on your device:

  • Delete files from within XYZFile.
  • Revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Delete the App from your device.
  • Manage iCloud and device backup settings through Apple settings.

Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights. To make a request, contact us at [support@example.com].

11. International Use

XYZFile primarily processes files locally on your device. If you contact us for support or share diagnostic information through Apple, that information may be processed in the country where the App Provider or service providers operate.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when we change XYZFile or when legal, technical, or business requirements change. The updated version will be identified by the “Last updated” date above.
