These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the XYZKeyboard mobile application and keyboard extension (collectively, “XYZKeyboard”, the “App”, or the “Service”). XYZKeyboard is also known as 玲珑键盘 in some product interfaces.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using XYZKeyboard, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

XYZKeyboard is an iOS Chinese input tool that may provide full-pinyin input, nine-key input, local candidate generation, symbols, emoji, personal lexicons, offline dictionaries, and optional AI-assisted candidates, composition, or pinyin correction.

The core input and dictionary features are designed to work locally on supported devices. AI features depend on your configuration, system permissions, network availability, and the third-party endpoint you select.

2. Eligibility

You may use XYZKeyboard only if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law and are not prohibited from using the App. If you use the App for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You are responsible for complying with the laws and regulations that apply where you use the App, including rules concerning keyboard extensions, personal data, encryption, AI services, and the content you enter or transmit.

3. Input, Local Data, and Your Responsibility

You retain ownership of text, personal dictionary entries, settings, and other content you enter or manage through the App. You are responsible for reviewing text before submission and for maintaining backups of any important content.

Keyboard suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. Local learning, candidate ranking, and AI suggestions may produce unintended results. XYZKeyboard is not a replacement for proofreading, human judgment, or professional advice.

File exports, personal-lexicon archives, copied text, and content shared through iOS may contain information you entered. Review the destination before sharing or exporting.

4. Permissions and Full Access

Basic offline input does not require Full Access. iOS may require Full Access for network AI and for a user-initiated clipboard feature. You can deny or revoke permissions in iOS Settings, but features that require a permission may stop working when it is unavailable.

XYZKeyboard reads the system clipboard only when you actively use the clipboard control. Clipboard content is inserted into the current text field and is not intentionally uploaded or retained by XYZTech. If you then use AI, the inserted text may become part of the limited context described in the AI Service Disclosure.

5. Optional Third-Party AI Services

You may configure a local service, an official provider endpoint, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. You choose the endpoint, model, and credentials. AI requests are sent directly to that endpoint and are not routed through a XYZTech proxy.

Third-party AI services are not controlled by XYZTech. Their terms, privacy practices, fees, retention periods, model behavior, availability, and content rules apply to your use of them. Read the AI Service Disclosure before enabling AI.

You must not submit information to an AI provider unless you have the right and authority to do so. You are responsible for API keys, provider accounts, billing, rate limits, and configuration settings that you supply.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use XYZKeyboard to:

  • violate any law, regulation, court order, or third-party right;
  • infringe or misappropriate intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights;
  • create, store, transmit, or distribute malware, credential theft, deceptive content, or other harmful material;
  • circumvent iOS, App Store, provider, network, or access-control restrictions;
  • interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the App, iOS, Apple services, or a third-party service; or
  • use AI output to make a high-impact decision without appropriate human review and any legally required safeguards.

7. Intellectual Property

XYZKeyboard, including its software, interface, visual design, trademarks, logos, documentation, and original content, is owned by XYZTech or its licensors and is protected by applicable law. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Open-source software and open language data included in the App remain subject to their own licenses. The applicable notices and license information are available in the App and in the project’s third-party lexicon documentation.

8. Availability, Updates, and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of XYZKeyboard, including a provider preset, endpoint format, dictionary, AI feature, or compatibility with an iOS release. We do not promise that the Service will be available at all times or on every device or text field.

The App may require updates. Continued use after an update may be subject to the then-current Terms and related disclosures.

9. Fees and Provider Charges

XYZTech does not currently operate the third-party AI endpoints selectable in XYZKeyboard. A provider may require an account, API key, subscription, usage payment, or other charge. You are responsible for charges imposed by a provider or by a platform account you use.

If XYZKeyboard later introduces paid features or in-app purchases, the applicable price and purchase terms will be disclosed before purchase and will be handled through the applicable platform rules.

10. Privacy

The XYZKeyboard Privacy Policy explains what is processed locally, what may be sent to a provider you select, how local data is retained and deleted, and how you can control optional data sharing. The AI-specific details are in the AI Service Disclosure.

11. Third-Party Services

XYZKeyboard may interoperate with iOS, Apple services, local-network services, cloud AI providers, and apps you select through system sharing features. XYZTech does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, websites, content, availability, security, pricing, or privacy practices.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and policies. If you share content with another app, service, website, or person, you are responsible for that decision and for the content you share.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XYZKeyboard is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. XYZTech disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App or any candidate will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, compatible with every device or text field, or able to recover lost, deleted, corrupted, or incorrectly submitted text. You should keep independent backups of important information.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XYZTech and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of text, data, privacy, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to XYZKeyboard, a third-party service, or these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, XYZTech’s total liability for claims relating to XYZKeyboard or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for XYZKeyboard in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD $50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless XYZTech and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, officers, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to Your Content, your use of the App or a third-party service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of a law or third-party right.

15. Termination

You may stop using XYZKeyboard at any time by deleting the App and keyboard extension. We may suspend or terminate access where you materially violate these Terms or where continued access creates a legal, security, or technical risk.

Termination does not delete information already received by a third-party provider. Provider-side deletion and retention are governed by that provider’s controls and policies.

16. Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained XYZKeyboard through the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a valid custom EULA applies.

Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support services for XYZKeyboard, except as required by applicable law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them as permitted by the applicable App Store terms.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the App, its services, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be identified by the “Last updated” date above. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain additional consent. Continued use after the effective date means that you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the XYZKeyboard Support page. Do not include passwords, API keys, or private input text in a support request.
