  1. Overview

XYZMoney includes optional AI-powered features to help users structure bookkeeping records, recognize receipt text, process voice-recognized text, categorize transactions, analyze shopping-list items, and generate financial summaries requested by the user.

AI features are optional. XYZMoney does not send personal data to an AI service unless the user chooses to use an AI feature and grants permission in the app.

  1. AI Features

XYZMoney may provide AI-assisted features including:

  • receipt or OCR text structuring
  • invoice or receipt information extraction
  • voice bookkeeping text structuring
  • smart transaction categorization
  • shopping-list food analysis
  • financial summaries or insights requested by the user

AI output is provided for convenience only. Users should review AI-generated results before saving or relying on them.

  1. Data That May Be Sent to AI Services

When the user chooses to use an AI feature and grants permission, XYZMoney may send the minimum data needed for the selected AI feature, including:

  • text typed by the user
  • text recognized from speech input
  • text extracted from receipts or images by Apple Vision OCR
  • receipt or invoice text needed to create bookkeeping records
  • shopping candidate names, categories, prices, and dates
  • the minimum ledger context needed to generate the requested bookkeeping, shopping, or financial suggestion

XYZMoney does not intentionally send complete financial records unless the user explicitly selects records for analysis or uses a feature that clearly requires that selected context.

  1. Receipt Images and OCR

In the current receipt and image OCR flow, the original image is processed first on the device using Apple Vision.

XYZMoney sends recognized text and necessary context to the selected AI provider, not the full original image, unless a future feature clearly explains otherwise and asks for separate permission.

  1. Voice Input

Voice input may be converted into recognized text using Apple system speech recognition services according to iOS permission settings and Apple system behavior.

When an AI bookkeeping feature is used, XYZMoney may send the recognized text, not the raw microphone recording, to the configured AI service after the user grants permission.

  1. AI Providers and Recipients

The AI provider may be selected or configured by the user.

Possible AI recipients may include:

  • DeepSeek, if the user uses the built-in DeepSeek-compatible configuration
  • an OpenAI-compatible endpoint configured by the user
  • LM Studio, Ollama, or another local or self-hosted endpoint configured by the user
  • another custom AI endpoint entered by the user

Before sending data, XYZMoney displays the configured AI recipient and endpoint in the app permission prompt.

  1. User Permission

Before XYZMoney sends personal data to a configured AI service, the app asks for explicit user permission.

The permission prompt explains:

  • what data may be sent
  • who the data will be sent to
  • that the data is sent only for the selected AI feature

If the user does not grant permission, XYZMoney does not send the data to the AI service.

If the configured AI recipient changes, XYZMoney asks for permission again before sending data to the new recipient.

  1. API Keys

If users choose to connect a third-party AI service, they may enter their own API key or endpoint configuration.

User-provided API keys are stored locally on the user’s device and are used only to authenticate requests to the AI service provider selected or configured by the user.

XYZMoney does not sell, rent, or use user-provided API keys for advertising or unrelated purposes.

  1. Use of AI-Submitted Data

Data sent to AI providers is used only to perform the AI feature requested by the user.

XYZMoney does not sell personal information.
XYZMoney does not use AI-submitted content for advertising.
XYZMoney does not use AI-submitted content for cross-app tracking.

  1. Third-Party Data Protection

For third-party AI providers integrated or used by XYZMoney, we require the provider to protect shared user data with the same or equal level of protection described in the XYZMoney Privacy Policy and required by applicable App Store privacy rules.

If the user configures a custom endpoint, the user controls the recipient and should use only providers they trust.

  1. Revoking AI Data Sharing Permission

Users may revoke AI data sharing permission in the app:

Settings > Privacy > AI Data Sharing Details

After permission is revoked, XYZMoney will not send data to the configured AI provider unless the user grants permission again.

  1. Accuracy Notice

AI-generated results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a user’s specific financial situation.

Users are responsible for reviewing AI-generated records, categories, summaries, and suggestions before saving or relying on them.

  1. No Financial Advice

XYZMoney is a personal bookkeeping and expense tracking app.

AI-generated summaries, insights, or suggestions are for informational and organizational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice.
